The Lakota West Student Broadcasting Club was founded in January 2022 by Dimitrije Fisic and Nicholas Johnson. Fisic and Johnson began by covering some of the remaining winter athletics and the some spring athletics as well.
The club took off in the fall of 2022, mostly due to the Football season, leading to growing support and viewership ratings for every single game that they did.
On October 7, 2022, during a highly anticipated football game between the Firebirds and the Fairfield Indians, the club set a concurrent viewership record, at 1,051 viewers. The game ended in a Firebirds win after double OT and the night went into the history books for LWHSBC.
LWHSBC continued their coverage of West Athletics through the winter sports season and is dedicated to bringing professional coverage to the families, students and community members of Lakota.
